Four go wild in Dublin

Last week I got a call from my little sister Martha. She’d won a competition with ‘KOH Restaurant & Cocktail Lounge,’ Dublin and the prize was a cocktail masterclass, champagne dinner for four, tickets to Beyonce in concert at the O2 plus limo transfers. Yes, really!

This blog post is the story of how that fantastic prize played out for four sisters in Dublin on March 9th 2014…

Brenda to the strictly ‘house’ playing dj…

‘How about Pharrell Williams, Happy? Deelite’s Groove is in the Heart? You could at least play Beyonce for the night that’s in it?….No? Ok, how about Dolly Parton?’

Good sign of a night that ends up in Molly Malone’s basket.

‘In Dublin’s fair city, where the girls are so pretty…’

  • We stayed in ‘The Arlington Hotel,’ Dublin 1, right on O’Connell Bridge i.e. heart of the city. Rooms cost just €30 per person per night. It’s noisy but if you can get around that the rooms are clean and cosy, price and location unbeatable and staff uber helpful and friendly, what’s not to like! Click HERE
  • For great food, cocktails, value and service at a central location visit ‘Koh Restaurant & Cocktail Lounge, click HERE Btw the cocktail masterclass was much more fun than I thought it would be plus I have a new found love as a result, Flirtini’s, sigh…

Finally for now…

  • I have 3 copies of one of my favourite books ‘Wild Irish Women’ by Marian Broderick to give away. For a chance to win like and share the fb page for this blog on your personal or business page and leave a comment to let me know. If your’re not on fb leave a comment here. • To Live In A Wild Place – New Flash Fiction Story July 30, 2015
She’d had this dream, to live in a wild place. When had it started she wondered? It hadn’t always been like this, when she was young she had wanted different things, money, career, to be anywhere but here. Somewhere with a pulse, where things happened! Not here, not buried, drowning in the dregs of another […]

    • July is Flowing By… July 19, 2015
July is flowing by, all drip, no dry, and the mood has shifted, did you feel it? The collective sigh? And the sigh said, it’s late now for rallying cries for blue skies. July is flowing up, up from the green earth, over the peoples hopes, reflected in birds eyes, down from the grey skies, […]

Dear friends, torn between cleaning and writing (be assured this only happens when things get extreme) I took the girls to the playground where I wrote a short story outline, see what I did there? Guilt free writing away from the mess. Clever yes? The story’s about a woman, her garden and house. Why yes, […]

    • Like a Phoenix July 6, 2015
Like a Phoenix In false arenas I was dreaming, past, present and strategic, while my spirit yearned for healing, fire cleaning. Like a phoenix I set fire to myself. Comfort, safety, held no meaning, in my soul already leaving, knowing worse than fear would be a phrenic living death. Embraced the edict for the zenith evolution, […]

    • A Memory July 3, 2015
It took quite a bit of searching to find this painting. It’s by an artist called Stepanie Fryer. I fell in love with it about eight years ago at a joint exhibition she was having with well known local artist and friend Sandra Vernon. At the time I was running a traditional performing arts company […]
