Four go wild in Dublin

Last week I got a call from my little sister Martha. She’d won a competition with ‘KOH Restaurant & Cocktail Lounge,’ Dublin and the prize was a cocktail masterclass, champagne dinner for four, tickets to Beyonce in concert at the O2 plus limo transfers. Yes, really!

This blog post is the story of how that fantastic prize played out for four sisters in Dublin on March 9th 2014…

‘How about Pharrell Williams, Happy? Deelite’s Groove is in the Heart? You could at least play Beyonce for the night that’s in it?….No? Ok, how about Dolly Parton?’

Good sign of a night that ends up in Molly Malone’s basket.

‘In Dublin’s fair city, where the girls are so pretty…’

Meanwhile from Leitrim…our brother Colm text us this message…

‘Hey hope ye enjoy the concert, I liked it, so I put a ring on it! : )

Aaaaaaaaaahhhhh, engaged! They got engaged! Congratulations Colm and Lisa. Wishing you both all the happiness in the world…

  • We stayed in ‘The Arlington Hotel,’ Dublin 1, right on O’Connell Bridge i.e. heart of the city. Rooms cost just €30 per person per night. It’s noisy but if you can get around that the rooms are clean and cosy, price and location unbeatable and staff uber helpful and friendly, what’s not to like! Click HERE
  • For great food, cocktails, value and service at a central location visit ‘Koh Restaurant & Cocktail Lounge, click HERE Btw the cocktail masterclass was much more fun than I thought it would be plus I have a new found love as a result, Flirtini’s, sigh…

Finally for now…

  • I have 3 copies of one of my favourite books ‘Wild Irish Women’ by Marian Broderick to give away. For a chance to win like and share the fb page for this blog on your personal or business page and leave a comment to let me know. If your’re not on fb leave a comment here. Welcome to our eclectic home in rural Ireland, an ode to creative expression and elevated living. I live here with my husband Adrian, our children Shaylyn, Saoirse, Sadhbh, and our cat Ernest Hemingway.   I designed and decorated the house on a shoestring with creative living plus children, and being at home with children in […]

‘Things growing are not ripe until their season’ – William Shakespeare, A Midsummer Night’s Dream… I’ve been getting to grips with the season, I believe it is mine. • How to Have a Creative Life… November 10, 2015
What does it mean to have a ‘creative life’? Why do so many people yearn for a creative life, even when they’re not sure what that is exactly? And why do so many people feel excluded from having a creative life of their own? I could wax lyrical for endless hours but I’ll try to […]
    • That Curious Love of Green – A New Global Creative Community November 2, 2015
I didn’t know, when I decided to host a month long creativity bootcamp, what I was doing, not consciously anyway. I did it because I wanted to immerse myself more intensely in creative work and because of the longing, not just my own, but the need I felt came to me through the blog, emails, […]
    • Halloween Break Idea for Adults & Children October 23, 2015
Today I have an easy creative activity for Halloween that’s great fun for children and/or adults as well as a fitting tribute and farewell to autumn, the leaves and flowers of this year. Simply go out and gather leaves, petals, twigs, grasses and berries with this thought in mind, to make foliage faces. Sadhbh and […]
    • ‘Sarah’s House’ – A Ghost Story October 19, 2015
‘The day Sarah was buried her house fell down. Her brother thought better of rebuilding, he sold the land to a neighbour for less than it was worth, on one condition, that the house never be rebuilt. As further insurance he planted a tree in the old hearth. In those days, before machinery, it would […]
    • ‘Going In’ – A Poem October 14, 2015
‘Autumn drawing to a close is silent, everything is still now. Soon the last leaves will fall, all in a rush, the years final bow. The house and I, today we hide, the fog has carried us away. The outside world has vanished, it wasn’t real anyway. To be sure I walked over the cold […]
    • A New Poem October 13, 2015
With each new day comes new hope and regret, regret for the morning, knowing I won’t remember it, hope for the words I might write yet. I’ll linger to imprint, extend and savour, see the flowers linger too this fair October, but it can’t last, soon I’ll stand here shivering in the biting winds of […]
    • A Creative Daze October 12, 2015
Morning all! 12 days into my ‘Creativity Bootcamp’ I’m so tired I think I’m sleep writing, so please forgive me if this post is less than eloquent but a creative haze has descended. On top of daily journaling, painting and poem writing, curating the blog fb page, plus, you know, the family, house etc I’ve gone […]
